I am ready for this year. I have prepared my soul for the ending of last year, and I’m as ready as I’ll ever be for whatever may come my way. It is a new year, and I am THRILLED! After looking at the past year in review, it didn’t look so horribly bad, and there are several fun things that I forgot to mention in the previous blog. For example, Tequila LOVES to watch fireworks. Who could have imagined that when we took our dog with us for the fourth of July fireworks that she would have just sat there and actually watched them! Anyway, a lot of fun stuff happened last year, a lot of crazy stuff happened last year, but all of it worked together so that God could start to teach me one thing…Be happy right where you are! So with the new year upon me, I give you a glimpse into what will be the drive for me this year. (And yes, Dana, you have taught me well, and I do copy making a theme for each year from you! Thanks for the motivation to have an overall purpose to every new year! But I promise again that I did not copy your year in review blog idea!

2009 The Grass is Green Right Here
Ecclesiastes 5:19-20
Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work- this is a gift from God. He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart.
So glad in the heart I will be. Happy for my life, just as it is, whatever may be going on at the very moment. I will not fret over what is to come, what should be coming, what I want to come. I will be glad and work to water the grass that is right under my feet at that moment. Oh, I say this so calmly…like I have it all figured out! I am not naive to think that this is an easy mission. In fact, for me this is a very very hard mission. However, it is one that God has been throwing at me for many months now, and until I learn it, I believe He will keep me right where I am at. So in order to move on, to mature, to find true joy that God wants for all of us, I will water my grass with gladness. And you may follow along to learn what is making my grass so green through the year.
Happy New Year to all of our dear friends and family. We love you all.
May this year be full of green grass for you!
